What is Tipek (Swine)?

Tipek (Swine) is a functional bioactive peptide product used as a swine feed additive. Its core active ingredient is recombinant porcine Epidermal Growth Factor (pEGF) — a naturally occurring growth factor that is the primary driver of intestinal development and mucosal repair in pigs.

EGF is the most abundant growth factor in sow milk, present at approximately 124 μg/L. At weaning, piglets abruptly lose this critical source of intestinal support — exactly when gut health pressure is highest. Tipek supplements exogenous EGF to fill this gap, maintaining intestinal structural integrity and absorptive function through the most vulnerable stage of swine production.

How Does Tipek (Swine) Work?

EGF binds to EGF receptors (EGFR) expressed on intestinal epithelial cells throughout the small intestine and colon. This activates a signaling cascade that drives four measurable outcomes:

Promote Intestinal Development

Stimulates intestinal epithelial cell metabolism, growth, proliferation, and differentiation. Increases villus height and crypt depth, promotes intestinal tissue maturation. Supports longer, healthier intestines with greater absorptive surface area.

Repair Mucosal Injury

Rapidly repairs epithelial damage caused by pathogens, mycotoxins, feed stress, or weaning transition. Strengthens tight junction proteins to restore barrier integrity and reduce leaky gut. Reduces pathogen colonization by competing for epithelial binding sites.

Strengthen Intestinal Immune Defense

Enhances mucosal immune function and the structural barrier role of the intestinal mucosa. Reduces the risk of pathogenic infection and improves disease resistance.

Improve Feed Utilization

Stimulates digestive enzyme secretion (trypsin, alkaline phosphatase, sucrase, maltase, lactase). Promotes nutrient transport carrier expression. Improves the digestion and absorption efficiency of feed nutrients — converting more of every kilogram of feed into growth.

What are the Benefits of Tipek?

For Nursery Piglets:

For Growing and Finishing Pigs:

For Sows:

  • Compensates for the loss of milk-borne EGF at weaning
  • Promotes intestinal development and reduces post-weaning diarrhea
  • Improves feed digestibility and nutrient absorption
  • Reduces mortality during the nursery phase
  • Maintains gut integrity under stress (feed changes, transport, regrouping)
  • Improves feed conversion efficiency
  • Reduces subclinical gut injury that silently reduces performance

  • Strengthens immune function during gestation and lactation
  • Improves colostrum quality and passive immunity transfer to piglets
  • Supports reproductive performance and litter vitality

TIPEK FAQ

Q:Why Is Tipek Different from Other EGF Products?

A: Tipek uses recombinant porcine EGF (pEGF) produced via yeast fermentation (Pichia pastoris expression system). The active
sequence is identical to naturally occurring pig EGF — maximizing receptor binding affinity and biological activity in swine.
Bioactivity testing shows Tipek's pEGF delivers 3.97× the proliferative effect of standard human recombinant EGF at equivalent
     concentration.

Unlike formaldehyde-treated or heat-inactivated alternatives on the market, Tipek uses a precision spray-drying process that
preserves full peptide activity through the manufacturing and storage cycle.

Q: Is Tipek effective even without active disease challenge?
A: Yes. Even in healthy herds, sub-optimal intestinal development after weaning is universal. Tipek improves baseline
intestinal absorptive capacity and barrier function, which translates into measurable FCR and growth improvements
regardless of disease status. The effect is amplified during disease challenge periods
.

Q: How quickly can results be observed?
A: Skin and coat condition improvement is typically visible within 7–10 days. Diarrhea rate reduction is usually apparent
within the first 14 days. FCR and weight gain improvements are measurable over a full growth phase (4–6 weeks).

Q: Can Tipek be used alongside antibiotics or other feed additives?
A: Yes. Tipek is fully compatible with antibiotics, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, probiotics, and mycotoxin binders. No known
antagonistic interactions. It can be used as a standalone gut health additive or as part of a comprehensive health program.

Q: Is Tipek safe for all swine stages including pregnant sows?
A: Yes. EGF is naturally produced in swine tissue and is metabolized as a normal dietary protein. No withdrawal period is required
and there are no drug residue concerns.

Q: Why is recombinant porcine EGF better than using natural sow colostrum?
A: Natural colostrum is highly variable in EGF content and cannot be standardized or used at scale. Recombinant pEGF from Tipek
delivers a precise, consistent, biologically active dose that can be incorporated into any feed formulation and used across the
    entire production cycle.
