What is the Reference Standard for the Monthly Weight Gain of Fattening Cattle at Different Weight Stages in Actual Production?

Fattening cattle are generally 250-700 kgs above stage

The 1^st stage：Transition period of 1 month（250-270 kgs）

The 2^nd stage：Skeleton growth stage 3.5 months（270-400 kgs）

The 3^rd stage：Fattening period 4 months（400-600 kgs）

The 4^th stage：Late fattening period 2 months（>600-700 kgs sold）

The 1^st Stage
The first phase was a transition period, during which data on weight gain varied widely. 0-60kg may occur, and there may be weight loss, which is mainly affected by many factors such as the source of the herd, the degree of stress, and the stress transition method.

The 2^nd Stage
The second phase is not suitable for direct high concentrate fattening, this phase is given priority to with skeletal growth, so the average daily gain control at about 1.3 kg.

The 3^rd Stage
The third stage belongs to the early stage of fattening, and the average daily gain can achieve 1.6kg.

The 4^th Stage
The fourth stage belongs to the late stage of fattening, with an average daily gain of 1.6-1.8kg. Short-term weight loss and weight gain are normal. Short-term weight gain does not represent the weight gain of the entire fattening period. Future improvements in genetic potential and feeding conditions, as well as greater attention to animal welfare, are likely to result in higher weight gain potential.
